Apart; A part by Jacqueline Bon

There is a definite comfort in the haunted desolation of the Pacific Northwest. It’s preserved, isolated and truly wild. It’s a place left on the map without Internet access.

Taking this trip forced me to slow down in the midst of a quarter life postgraduate crisis. This change of pace allowed me to embrace this time of transition and evaluate where I am and where I want to be.

This geography was a wise teacher. It reminded me of the importance of being both “apart” and “a part.”

Apart: Separation is necessary. We must not to measure ourselves in relation to other people. Our paths are different.

A part: We’re all contributing to a larger figurative whole. Everything has its own place and it’s own significance.
